Doug "Dougo" Sims

Independent Radio Consultant and Midday Show Radio Personality - Weekdays 12 Noon - 1 p.m.

Dougo is an Independent Radio Consultant and Midday Show Host for Mountaineer Radio. He has been in the radio industry since 2002. Dougo began as the morning show host on Light Rock 103.7 FM. Within a short span of time, he became the Operations/Station Manager and continued to do the morning show as well. In 2007, the station was sold and moved. Dougo then worked on Classic Rock 105.1 FM in McAlester, Oklahoma for seven years as the afternoon show host and Music Director. Beginning in November 2010, he also hosted a morning show on the Internet at Eastern Oklahoma State College.

Beginning in October of 2014 Dougo served as the General Manager of Mountaineer Radio-TV which consists of "The Mix" 93.1 FM serving the Wilburton and McAlester surrounding areas, 104.9 FM serving the Broken Bow/Idabel area and also Mountaineer TV. He led the way as the creative force from planning, construction and launching Mountaineer Radio and Mountaineer TV. As of January 2, 2022 he transitioned into his new position as an Independent Radio Consultant for Mountaineer Radio-TV assisting in many ways from technical support, administration duties and training.

Dougo also spent five years as a play-by-play sports broadcaster on Whiz-vu TV Channel 19. He also has many years of sports broadcasting experience on radio. Dougo was born in Hartshorne, Oklahoma and is a longtime resident of Wilburton where he serves as a city councilman. He is a proud graduate and alumni of Eastern Oklahoma State College and attended East Central University. Dougo's passion is music but he loves sports too.
